The Knapp’s Building Renovation was a very specialized Historic Restoration of the former Knapp’s Department Store in downtown Lansing. The project included the full removal and replacement of the iconic structure’s mid-modern metal panel system. Kramer Management Group was retained by the owner to perform pre-construction planning, cost estimating, project delivery, and project oversight services for the project. Multiple delivery model scenarios were developed and based on the requirements of the project for tax credit purposes, and project financing requirements, a General Contract delivery method was utilized. Granger Construction company was selected to work with the design team at Quinn Evans to deliver this project. This project was completed in 2015 on time and under budget with great success for all stakeholders. The owner is very pleased with the outcome of this project and we encourage you to contact them.
