Completed in 2020, the $40 million mixed-use development called the East End in Midland, Michigan, has quickly become a community showpiece. The Kramer Management Group served as the Owner’s Representative for Midland Downtown Partners, LLC. The site for the new build was the former home of the McKay Press Building. Demolition of the previous building necessitated the management of asbestos abatement, hazardous site remediation, and public infrastructure elements before construction could begin on the nearly 250,000 square foot structure.
KMG worked with the developer to prepare initial cost estimates and establish the overall project budget and schedule, as well as managing all RFPs and the evaluation of competitive proposals for design and construction firms. Neumann Smith Architecture, Rowe Professional Services Company, and Spence Brothers completed the project under KMG guidance on time and under budget.
The East End property has become a vibrant member in the community directly across from Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons baseball team, right in the heart of Midland.
