Karmanos Cancer Institute

Lawrence and Idell Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center

The Karmanos Cancer Institute – Lawrence and Idell Weisberg Cancer Treatment Center in Farmington Hills has been a well-known and high performing cancer center since 2001. In 2017, the leadership at the Weisberg facility recognized the need to expand to accommodate their growing market share, as well as to upgrade equipment and services in order to continue to provide specialized treatments in an environment that provides comfort and healing. Kramer Management Group was proud to partner with the Karmanos Cancer Institute in launching this two-phase project.

KMG assisted Karmanos with the management of this project  KMG managed the procurement, change order, and invoicing processes for this critical project.  KMG also assisted in the management of equipment, furniture, fixtures, and technology.

Phase 1 of this project consisted of the addition of a Gamma Knife Vault and associated support space, along with creation of enclosed spaces to house mobile treatment units. Phase 2 includes new examination rooms, an expanded infusion department, a pharmacy and a laboratory, an imaging suite to incorporate new Nuclear Medicine services, a new entrance, lobby, and waiting rooms, renovation of the existing radiation oncology area, offices, and conference space. When complete, this renovation and expansion will provide an even greater array of services to support the region and beyond as patients seek out state-of-the-art care in their journey, and Kramer Management Group is proud to play a substantial role in this process.
